The queen of flowers

In 1774, Michel Adam, a perfumer-glovemaker from Versailles, opened a shop in Paris which he named “À la Reine des Fleurs.” It was an immediate success, particularly with the court of King Louis XVI. That same year, he created his first eau de Cologne, named after the shop: “Eau de Cologne de la Reine des Fleurs.” Adopted by Marie-Antoinette, it quickly became a staple of the court. The formula was revisited in 1874 for the house's centenary, preserved ever since, and is offered today.
