Around 1850, France was experiencing constant political upheaval. The Revolution was followed by the First Empire, then by the Restoration, the July Monarchy and the Second Republic. L.T. Piver survived these tumults by focusing on the continuous improvement of the quality of its products, thus seducing a mainly male clientele in search of elegance and refinement.
